Southwest LRT project

The Metropolitan Council is the lead agency designing and building the Southwest light rail project. Many public and private partners are working with the council to make this project a reality by contributing funding, oversight and expertise. Metro Transit, a division of the Metropolitan Council, will operate the Southwest light rail (METRO Green Line Extension) when it is completed. Learn more about Met Council's involvement.

The Southwest LRT project prepared a narrated flyover visualization of the METRO Green Line Extension route. This visualization shows changes to the project made in 2015 and approved by Hennepin County and the cities along the route during the municipal consent process in summer 2015. Closed captioning and a transcript of the narration is also available.

The METRO Green Line Extension route video can be viewed here.
